Nissan 200SX 150

Since 1974, the Nissan Motor Company branded a line of automobiles “SX”, made available throughout the world. Up until 2002, the “200SX” brand was used.

The first line branded with the “200SX” name was the Nissan Silvia in 1964. This badging was in reference to the engine displacement of 2.0 liters. The CSP311 2-seat coupe model of the Silvia was manufactured and available until 1968.

A “200SX” two-plus-two coupe model was manufactured in 1970. This revival was brought about as competition to the Toyota Celica. It was later redesigned to fit the Nissan B platform and was named the S10. The mundane design made the S10 marginally unpopular compared to the competing models from Mazda and Toyota. The “200SX” nameplate was reintroduced in 1995 in North America in branding a Nissan Sentra 2 door coupe and the Nissan NX. In all markets, the “200SX” was to refer to cars built on the Nissan S platform. In Mexico, though, a “200SX” car was introduced – Nissan Lucino, with 2 versions – GSE and GSR models.

Used Nissan 240SX

Nissan 240SX 150

Since 1989 up until 1998, the Nissan Motor Company introduced to the North American market the Nissan 240SX as a replacement of the 200SX (RWD). Included in the features of the 240SX is an inline 4 engine with 2.4-litre fuel capacity with rear wheel drive. This engine changed from a KA24E in its first two years 1989 and 1990 and KA24DE from 1991 to 1998.

Nissan produced two generations of the 240SX from the Nissan S platform, the S13 which was produced from 1989 to 1994 and the S14, produced from 1995 to 1998. The underpowered engine of the car caused its owners to swap the KA24DE engine for the more powerful I4 SR20DET engine.

Other owners opted to have their stock engine turbocharged. Other swaps included were the conversion of the 240SX to more current bodyworks, example: into a 1995-96 chassis, including the hood, bumper, and headlights from a 1997-98 body.

The Nissan 280ZX was produced by the Nissan Motor Company from 1978 to 1983. This sports coupe was also known in other markets as the Fairlady Z and the Datsun 280ZX. It was actually manufactured as Datsun 280ZX’s replacement, thus becoming a second generation Z-car.

A “By Nissan” subscript was placed beside the Datsun logo of this model. It won a number of awards, including the Import Car of the Year by Motor Trends. However, in 1984, it was replaced by the Nissan 300ZX.

The overall design of the car was dedicated to fuel economy due to the oil crisis of the 1970s. Furthermore, audio systems were improved to a high-end standard, as well as aerodynamics and emissions were made better. The car became more popular with the endorsement of American actor Paul Newman, who raced the car with the team of Bob Sharp Racing. A series of commercials were done by the actor to promote the car.

Used Nissan 300ZX

Nissan 300ZX 150

The Nissan 300ZX was part of the third and fourth generations of z-cars produced by the Nissan Motor Company. Z31 (single) and Z32 (twin) were the sports car’s chassis designations.

The car features a V6 naturally-aspirated engine with a 3.0 liter fuel capacity. The 300ZX name followed the naming scheme initiated by former Nissan Motors USA president Yutaka Katayama that started with the 240Z. The “X” in the name supposedly signifies luxury.

The name was used in all of Nissan’s markets, except in Japan, where all Z-cars were referred to as the “Fairlady Z”.The car’s design followed closely after the car that it replaced, the 280ZX. Two special editions, the 50th anniversary edition to commemorate Nissan’s 50 years in 1984, and the Shiro Special in 1988 were manufactured with performance and luxury upgrades.
