Used Acura Vigor

JDM Honda Accord

The Vigor entered into the US market in 1992 as a mid-size sedan from Acura, the luxury car unit of Honda Motor. Sold until 1994, the Vigor shared the chassis of the Honda Inspire and Honda Legend. The only engine available for the US iteration of the Acura Vigor was Honda’s 2.5L five cylinder gasoline engine, which was longitudinally mounted. The Vigor was the result of Honda’s anticipation that the car market would gravitate towards small, well-equipped sports sedans similar to the BMW 3 series and that a less-expensive but well-equipped option to the BMW entry would be a strong seller.

But the Honda people were proven wrong. The market favored the roomer luxury cars like Lexus ES which also offered softer rides. Buyers found the Vigor stiff and small. Nevertheless, the Vigor earned points for its handling ability which was unexpected for a front-wheel drive sedan. Attempts to improve on the Vigor’s weak points, however, failed to win converts and the series was abandoned in 1994 in favor of the Acura TL.

Estimated Price Range for Used Acura Vigor: $2750-$4000

Used Ferrari 308

Ferrari 308 150

The Ferrari 308, launched in the 70’s up to the 80’s, was the replacement for the Dino 246. It was introduced in 1975 at the Paris Motor Show to be the supplement for Dino 308 T. Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS was a 2-seater and became one of the most recognized Ferrari road cars. Leonardo Fioravanti designed this car. He was also responsible for the design of Dayton, Dino and Berlinetta Boxer.

The 308 is a lightweight car weighing only 1,050 kg or 2,315 pounds. This was because the body is made of glass-reinforced plastic or GRP. But, by 1977, 308 switched to steel, adding 150 kg or 331 pounds in weight. This model has been the most common of Ferrari cars. They have sold more than 12,000 units of this however there are only 712 units made for the fiberglass dry-sump version. The latter model was one of the most sought after cars by collectors.

In 1980, a Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection was added to the car making it drop the power to 214 hp from the previous 255 hp. This addition also decreases its emissions. By 1982, they have added the 4-valve per cylinder Quattrovalvole (QV) and regained its power. This additional restores its power to 245 hp and brought back its performance. A notable trivia about this car is that this was the car used on the Magnum P.I. television show in 1977. This show has used several cars and changed its cars every new season. After the season ended, they auction off the cars.

This model has been considered as one of the most reliable Ferraris because one can do maintenance without lifting the engine from the car.

The 328 has two types the GTB or the Gran Turismo Berlinetta and the GTS or the Gran Turismo Spider. There are also GTB and GTS Turbo. This has been made to negate the tax concessions. The changes for these models are focused on the engine, which includes engine displacement of 1991 cc instead of the usual 3.2 L.

The name 328 was produced to indicate the total cubic capacity of the engine. 32 to represent the 3.2 L engine displacement and the 8 for the number of cylinders.
