This model has been considered as one of the most reliable Ferraris because one can do maintenance without lifting the engine from the car.

The 328 has two types the GTB or the Gran Turismo Berlinetta and the GTS or the Gran Turismo Spider. There are also GTB and GTS Turbo. This has been made to negate the tax concessions. The changes for these models are focused on the engine, which includes engine displacement of 1991 cc instead of the usual 3.2 L.

The name 328 was produced to indicate the total cubic capacity of the engine. 32 to represent the 3.2 L engine displacement and the 8 for the number of cylinders.

The 348 has been released in 1989 and continue to sell until 1995. By 1993, Ferrari made some changes on 348. They added more power making it 312 hp (US) and 320 hp (Europe) form the same 3.4 L engine. This was made possible by changing the exhaust. They have named these new cars as 348 GTB and 348 GTS. Both have body color for the lower body instead of black like the previous models. Due to the insertion of the spacers, the rear track has increased in length by one inch.

In 1994, the company made a much more powerful model. They call this 348 GT Competiziones or GTC. These have 360 hp to 500 hp and have Kevlar front and rear bumpers, seats and door panels.

550 Maranello and 550 Barchetta are the Gran Turismo cars by Ferrari. They are two-seaters and debuted in 1996. Their predecessor is the Ferrari 512M.

550 Barchetta is the convertible version of the 550 Maranello. It debuted in 2000 at the Paris Motor Show. A notable feature of this car is the top. They have released this without a real convertible top. They, however, provided a soft cover but it is for temporary use only. Barchettas were only 448 in number. The 550 was not intended for motorsport. However, there are some privateer teams that made some modifications. Italteca aided the development of the first racing 550 for Red Racing. Prodrive made racing customer versions. Prodrive was not in any way supported by Ferrari even though this has been the introduction of Ferrari to 24 Hours Le Mans and other various sports car series.
