Used Oldsmobile Cutlass

Oldsmobile Cutlass 150

A line of automobiles made by General Motors’ Oldsmobile division was named the Oldsmobile Cutlass. It was also known as the Oldsmobile F-85 in its initial years. Introduced as a compact car with a uni-body in 1961, the Cutlass did not achieve initial success. However, it gained popularity as a intermediate car with a body-on-frame look for its second generation. In the 1970s, the Cutlass became one of Oldsmobile’s most popular brands. The Cutlass during the 1980s was used by Oldsmobile as a sub-marquee, with different models of Oldsmobiles bearing the Cutlass brand, including the Cutlass Calais and the Cutlass Ciera, among others.

The first to third generation Cutlass was available in different body types, including a 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, a 2-door hardtop, and a 4-door station wagon. The 4-door station wagon and hardtop body types were dropped in the third generation Cutlass, and were replaced with a 5-door station wagon. The sixth generation Cutlass, the last one, was only available in a 4-door sedan body type and was replaced in 1998 by the Oldsmobile Intrigue.

Used Oldsmobile Intrigue

Oldsmobile Intrigue 150

From 1998 until 2002, the Oldsmobile division of General Motors produced a mid-size sedan named the Oldsmobile Intrigue. The design of the Intrigue was first seen in the 1995 concept car called the Antares. It became the Oldsmobile’s answer to competition from Japanese cars and was the replacement of the obsolete Cutlass Supreme.

Production for the Intrigue started in 1997 at the GM Fairfax facility in Kansas City, Kansas. The range of the Intrigue placed it in a class with other GM products like the Buick Century, Pontiac Grand Prix, and the Chevrolet Impala.

Three trim levels were available for the Intrigue: the GX (base model), the GL (mid-level model), and the GLS (high end model). From 1998 to 1999, the Intrigue ran on an OHV 3.8 L L36 V6 engine, and it was changed to a DOHC 3.5 L LX5 V6 engine from 2000 to 2002. The Intrigue was the first line of cars phased out by Oldsmobile, and was replaced by the Buick Lacrosse in 2005.

Used Oldsmobile Toronado

Oldsmobile Toronado 150

General Motors’ Oldsmobile division manufactured a two-door coupe named the Oldsmobile Toronado. The Toronado was available in the market for 26 years, from 1966 to 1992. It was introduced as a full-size personal luxury car and as a competition to the Ford Thunderbird. It was also the first front-wheel drive automobile manufactured in the United States since the Cord, which was introduced 29 years before the Toronado debuted.

Its E-body platform was something it shared with the Buick Riviera and Eldorado. David North, an Oldsmobile resident car stylist, was attributed as the exterior designer of the car with its signature flame red color. A dramatic increase in sales was caused by a redesign of the second generation Toronado in 1971, making it look more like the Cadillac Eldorado. A diesel V8 engine was offered for the third generation Toronado. The construction of the last generation Toronado shifted from body-on-frame to a uni-body platform. Declining sales caused GM to decide to stop the Toronado’s production, and it was replaced the Oldsmobile Aurora as a model for the 1995 year.
