The Chevrolet Corsica rolled into the streets in 1987 first as fleet cars of rental companies and other large businesses. Significant consumer acceptance met this front-wheel drive, mid-sized car when it was subsequently introduced into the mainstream market.

Intervening years from its launch saw several engine variations with a 2.8L LB6 V6 engine as standard during the 1987-1989 and 3.1L Gen III V6 in the 1994-1996 iterations. Transmissions available during the Chevrolet Corsica production years include five-speed manual, three-speed automatic and four-speed automatic. The Corsica is a kin to the Pontiac Tempest, both being built on the L-body platform. Corsica was produced in GM’s facilities in Linden, New Jersey and in Wilmington, Delaware.

Used Chevrolet El Camino

A coupe utility vehicle, the Chevrolet El Camino was based on an existing and modified platform—the two-door station wagon Brookwood and its sedan delivery version.

The El Camino first came into production between 1959 and 1960, which was resumed from 1964 to 1987. Despite its car pedigree, the Chevrolet El Camino is classified as a truck in North America. General Motors has its own variant of the El Camino, the GMC Sprint which was later renamed as the GMC Caballero and marketed as such from 1978 to 1987.

In the Mexican market, the El Camino sometimes goes by the name Chevrolet Conquistador. Lukewarm consumer response met the introduction of the El Camino in 1959-1960, and it was only in 1964 that the market appeared ready for a utility coupe. The second generation Chevrolet El Camino of 1964 was based on the Chevelle, and fared much better as this series lasted to a fifth generation till 1987.

Used Chevrolet Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox can claim to parentage from several sources across the globe. This first mid-size crossover SUV (sports utility vehicle) from Chevrolet has its 3.4L LNJ V6 engine made in China by Shanghai GM.

The Equinox’s AF33 transmission is manufactured by Aisin in Japan. These components along with other major parts are assembled at the Canada GM/Suzuki joint venture CAMI Automotive, in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. One minor exception here is the 2008 Equinox Sport which is fitted with a 3.6L V6 engine which is made in the US.

This Chevrolet Equinox sport model’s more powerful engine enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 7 seconds and boosts horsepower from earlier versions to 264 hp, up by more than 40%. Exterior styling in this variant is also slightly different, and it sports a six-speed automatic transmission and 18-inch wheels.
