BMW M1

The BMW M1 is a high performance sports car manufactured in between the years 1978-1981.

The BMW M1 is hand built and it was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, an Italian automobile designer. A total of seven units were built in the year 1978 and a total of 456 units have been manufactured in between the years 1978-1981.

The BMW M1 was well noted for its success in the racing, it also won the 1984 Group B championship and it was also named as “Ten Best Sports Cars of 1970s” in the year 2004 by the “Sports Car International” Magazine.

The BMW M1 is also the only car to feature a mid engine. It consisted of a twin-cam 3.5 L six cylinder gasoline engine and the BMW M1 has been renamed as BMW 745i in Africa. A total of 209 units have been manufactured with this engine in between the years 1984-1986 in Africa. The engine delivered an output power of 273 bhp and the top speed is about 162 mph in the street versions and the racing versions delivered an output power of 850 bhp.

BMW 507

The BMW 507 is a high performance roadster manufactured by the BMW in between the years 1956-1959.

The BMW 507 was first displayed in New York’s Waldorf-Astoria in the year 1955 and the sales of the BMW 507 began in the year 1956. During its production BMW suffered a huge loss on every BMW 507 car and the production was postponed to the year 1959. BMW first thought of building 5,000 units for every year, but only 252 units have been manufactured as a result of the company’s loss.

The BMW 507 featured the body structure of BMW 503 and it featured double wishbones front suspensions, Panhard rod and Alfin drum brakes. The optional features included the power brakes and Girling disc brakes.

The BMW 507 featured a V8 engine with a capacity of 3168 cc and four speed manual transmission. The engine delivered an output power of 150 bhp and it reached the speed of 60 mph in 10 seconds and the top speed is about 141 mph.

BMW 503

The BMW 503 is a sports car manufactured in between the years 1956-1959.

The BMW 503 was designed by Albrecht von Goertz, a German car designer and it was first displayed in the Frankfurt Motor Show in the year 1955. A total of 413 units have been manufactured where 139 units are cabriolets.

The BMW 503 featured V8 engine with a capacity of 3168 cc. The engine delivered an output power of 140 bhp and it reached the speed of 62 mph in 13 seconds and the top speed is about 120 mph. The BMW 503 featured 4-speed manual transmission which was continued from the BMW 502.

BMW 502

The BMW 502 is a huge four door saloon manufactured in between the years 1954-1964.

The BMW 502 was first displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in the year 1954 and the BMW 502 features the same body structure of the BMW 501. The 502 is also considered as the fastest production car in Germany during its time. The BMW 502 is well noted for its fuel efficiency which gave a mileage of 15 km per liter.

BMW 501

The BMW 501 is a huge four door passenger car manufactured in between the years 1952-1964.

The BMW 501 was first displayed in the Frankfurt Motor Show in the year 1951 and the sales of the car began in the year 1952. In between the years 1954-1955, the cabriolet version has been launched and a number of modifications have been done to the BMW 501 in the year 1955 which included the curved glass section and full width wrap. All the BMW 501 featured four speed manual transmissions.

Though the BMW 501 is a four seater; it was built as a six seater for its huge structure. A total of 9,019 units of BMW 501 were produced where 5,568 units featured eight cylinders.
