Engine
The real changes in the Polo are under the hood. Volkswagen changed their entire engine range which improves fuel economy.
They replaced the older engines with a trio of three-cylinder 1.4-litre TDIs with identical outputs. The most impressive is the 74 horsepower Polo TDI BlueMotion.
The revised engine meets Euro-6 emission regulations. Volkswagen says that you can boost fuel efficiency by up to 21 percent.
Performance
The Polo features a new electro-mechanical steering system which is integrated within the steering column. The safety features are now in-line with the new standard for European models.
The adaptive cruise control system utilizes radar sensors at the front. This means that the driver can specify speeds ranging from 30 – 160 km/h. When the vehicle ahead comes to a stop, the ACC will be able to comfortably apply the brake.
Interior & Exterior
The styling on the new Polo is subtle, barely noticeable. Sharper lines, LED lights and a redesigned bumper are only some of the exterior tweaks.
Inside, drivers will notice a sleek three-spoke steering wheel as well as the same modular infotainment system the previous edition had. The top-range model features a 6.5 inch touchscreen which can impressively detect your hand movements when reaching towards the device.
