It comes with a four cylinder TDI engine that produces 181 horsepower with up to 281 lb ft of torque.
The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD comes with an automated dual clutch gearbox and is a highly efficient diesel car.
This model is the first one to have the stop/start system onboard. It comes with a battery degeneration mode which utilizes the deceleration phases to charge the batteries. The top speed is 143 mph and accelerates in 7.5 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.

The Volkswagen Golf GTD has several new technologies incorporated. It comes with a sound actuator controlled by the CAN bus and can generate either a comfort oriented sound or a sonorous or powerful noise.
