Engine & Performance

The 2012 CC is available in a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that produces 200 hp and 207 lbs-ft of torque, and a 3.6L V6 that produces 280 hp and 265 lbs-ft of torque. The Sport and R-Line trims are equipped with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox, while the Lux trims are fitted with a standard 6-speed dual-clutch manual (DSG), which is available as an option in the Sport and R-line models.

The 2.0L engine gets 22/31 mpg city/highway with the automatic transmission, and 21/31 mpg city/highway with the manual. The top-of-the-line VR6 4Motion Executive comes with the 3.6L V6 engine paired with a conventional 6-speed automatic. This model comes with a standard AWD and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.3 seconds. It gets a fuel economy estimate of 17/25 mpg city/highway.

Exterior

The CC has 6 trim levels: 2.0T Sport, 2.0T Lux, the 2.0T Lux Limited, the 2.0T Lux Plus, the 2.0T R-Line, and VR6 4Motion Executive. The front, you have a pair of flared headlamps flanking a thin, wide grille. Along the side, the profile is nicely styled with arches running upwards along a well designed center crease line.

The Sport trim has 17-inch alloy-wheels, heated mirrors, automatic wipers, and automatic headlights as standard exterior features. R-Line models add 18-inch wheels, dark taillights, unique front bumper and side-sill designs, and fog lamps.

The Lux models come with heated washer nozzles, the Lux Plus adds a panoramic sunroof, while the Lux Limited trim adds adaptive xenon headlights. Going up to the top-of-the-line VR6, you will get parking sensors, power rear sunshade, and headlamp washers.

Interior

The CC comes with a cabin made of upscale materials and 2-tone seats. The standard leatherette seats are very comfortable, the front seats are heated and power adjustable. The rear seat is meant for two occupants, and offers enough legroom although the headroom is a bit limited for tall people. All trims come with high-tech features that include: 8-speaker stereo/CD system, Bluetooth, 6-disc in-dash CD changer, iPod connectivity, satellite radio and auxiliary input jack.

The Lux trim is equipped with a standard navigation system, while the VR6 trim adds rearview camera to its interior. This car has a cargo space of 13 cubic feet, but one can add more space by folding the 60/40 rear seats.

Safety & Reliability

The 2012 VW CC is adequately fitted with standard safety features.
