Pontiac Solstice

Pontiac Solstice 150

The Pontiac division of General Motors has a small sports car line called the Pontiac Solstice. It made its debut in the North American International Auto Show in 2004. General Motor’s plant in Wilmington, Delaware started production in 2005 for the model year of 2006. The Solstice shares the Kappa platform of GM with the Saturn Sky and Opel GT. A model with a new hardtop targa was announced in mid 2008 and was made available the following year. The Pontiac Solstice was a best-seller for GM, with delays in the delivery of ordered units that it had to increase production. Consequently, the retail price of the car increased from its introductory $20,490 to $22,115 currently. Two years after its debut, a GXP version was introduced in 2006 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Even with very good sales, the Pontiac Solstice will be ending its run by the end of 2010 with all the rest of the Pontiac brands.
