A line of automobiles made by General Motors’ Oldsmobile division was named the Oldsmobile Cutlass. It was also known as the Oldsmobile F-85 in its initial years. Introduced as a compact car with a uni-body in 1961, the Cutlass did not achieve initial success. However, it gained popularity as a intermediate car with a body-on-frame look for its second generation. In the 1970s, the Cutlass became one of Oldsmobile’s most popular brands.
