The Infiniti FX, a mid-size luxury car, has been available in the US market since the 2003 model year. The FX designers sought to create "cool fusion" in the vehicle by the blending of a substantial, SUV lower body with the sleek, elegant upper body of a classic sports car or sports GT. Additionally, they sought to merge SUV functionality with sports-car performance in the FX.
The vehicle’s first-generation nameplates FX35 and FX45 indicate the two engine options of the initial Infiniti FX iteration. Buyers can choose from two FX35 drivetrains, the RWD and the AWD.
