The Lucerne is a luxury sedan that emerged from Buick’s reinvigorated car design & engineering thrusts in 2006. It replaced the Buick LaSabre and Park Avenue and first wended its way into a major US car show in 2005. When it marked its inaugural debut in 2006, the Lucerne went down history as the initial V8-powered Buick after a protracted time (since the V8 powered the Roadmaster in 1996). It is a front wheel drive sedan that pundits noted for its failure to excite buyers, although it has topnotch styling and innovative design.
The Buick Lucerne actually offered two engine options the 3.8-liter V6 that made 197 horsepower at 5200 rpm, and the V8 model that utilized a Cadillac Northstar engine that produced 275 horsepower at 6000 rpm. On the other hand, the Lucerne Super came with a 4.6-liter V8 engine that produced 292 horsepower.
