The Bentley Motors division of Volkswagen Motors developed and manufactured a replacement to the Bentley Mulsanne and Bentley Eight models in 1992. This replacement was a luxury car that is full-sized called the Bentley Brooklands. The Brooklands price slotted it below the Turbo R in the Bentley line up, although both cars share similar style, underpinnings and an engine - a Rolls-Royce 6.75-litre engine.

The Turbo R's engine though, was a bit modified in the sense that it had a turbocharger. Along with other Rolls-Royce vehicles in the 1980s through the early 1990s, the Brooklands had a design theme that was angular. It shared exterior design themes with most Bentley cars, such as the Bentley waterfall grille, dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights, a descending boot lid and chrome B-pillars. Although the Brooklands was discontinued after the 1997 model year, a revival took place in 2008, when the Bentley Brooklands Coupé was introduced. This hand-made luxury car is hand-assembled, wood veneer, and leather hide.
