The name Audi TT is closely linked with motorcycle racing, with its “TT” initials derived from the Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy) motorcycle racing where an Audi unit, car and motorbike maker NSU, had successful campaigns.
Designed as a sports car, Audi TT comes in two variants, a 2 + 2 sports coupe and a two-seat roadster. This sports car is distinctive for its award-winning interiors and seamless design achieved through a pioneering laser welding technology. Now on its second generation, the Audi TT is powered by an internal combustion engine that is transversely mounted, operating either as front- or quattro four-wheel drive. The Audi TT has a 1.8 liter in-line four-cylinder 20-valve turbocharged engine. The first diesel-engined version of this sports car was launched in 2008 with a fuel consumption of 5.3 liters for every 100 kilometers. In 2008, Audi also launched TTS quattro with modified cylinder head and block, and fuel injectors.
