Boston is the capital of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It is also the state’s largest city. It has an area of 89.6 square miles. Of this only a little over half is land. Since Boston is heavily populated, it also has a high population density given that the land area is small. It is only bigger in land area than San Francisco.
The city has a humid continental climate. Summers can be very warm, while winters are generally cold and snowy. Temperatures could be as high as 90 0F in the summer and as low as 10 0F in the winter.
