2014 Renault Captur

The 2014 Renault Captur is “the little car that could” or perhaps the very definition of “good things come in small packages”. It is all of 5 feet from the ground to the top of the roof.

Even with this it has a considerable ground clearance of 8 inches. This rivals many of today’s SUV’s. Speaking of SUV’s, the best description for this crossover may be part SUV, part MPV and part hatchback. Elements of all of those market segments are rolled up into one concise and classy chassis in the Renault Captur.

Engine & Performance

The 2014 Captur combines a pleasurable ride with efficiency in mind. You may choose either a 3 cylinder turbo engine rated at 90HP or its big brother, a 4 cylinder at 120 HP. Both are fuel efficient delivering an incredible 62 miles per gallon! An ECO mode is included to continually monitor fuel consumption.

Both engines will be offered with an efficient dual clutch transmission for easy shifting. The front and rear suspension has been updated to accommodate the 16 or 17 inch wheels for superb handling.

Exterior

The Renault logo stands proudly amidst a glossy backdrop at the center of the uniquely patterned front grille. The wing shaped headlamps lead you around to the side of the vehicle. From this vantage point the headlight compartment gets swept up along with the bottom curve of the doors which extend to the rear.

This creates the sensation of movement even with the vehicle standing still.
The strong wheel wells and side molding strips are coordinated with the color of the roof.

The natural flow continues to the rear with the taillights wrapping around the rear quarter panel to the back. Your eyes will be drawn to the large chrome nameplate covering the hatch handle that announces, “CAPTUR”.

Interior

You may experience the same sensation of an airplane pilot when sitting behind the wheel of the Renault Captur. This is not by accident given the dashboards wing-like aerodynamic design. Everything is within easy reach including the large Easy life drawer (aka glove compartment). There are additional storage areas.

Not only are the front seats height adjustable, but so too is the steering wheel providing for the optimum driving position. The rear bench is adjustable for legroom and folds completed down when needed for cargo space.
