2013 Renault Twin-Run Concept

While the chances of the 2013 Renault Twin-Run Concept car being offered as a production vehicle are a long shot, some features of the latest concept provides a glimpse into Renaults future plans.

As for now, the Twin-Run Concept is considered more of a tribute by the French automaker to the R5 Turbo and the Clio V6. This is more of a race car than an everyday city vehicle. As a matter of fact, it made its debut running laps at the Monaco Grand Prix in May.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood of the Renault Twin-Run Concept sits a 3.5 liter, 6 cylinder engine generating 320 HP. The engine is paired with a SADEV, 6 speed sequential gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

The Twin-Run Concept accelerates from 0 to 62 MPH in 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 155 MPH. It is configured as a rear wheel drive.

Exterior

The Renault Concept measures just less than 145 inches in length and is 68.9 inches wide. It weighs in at just above 2,094 pounds. The façade of the car includes 4 additional extra-flat headlamps utilizing LED technology.

The cars nose is diamond-like and the entire vehicle is fitted with an aerodynamic package to insure optimum speed can be achieved. The concept car is painted in an attractive light blue that goes well with red stripe accents around the body.

Interior

The interior was prepared in race car fashion. It contains SPARCO seats complete with a safety harness. It has a motorsports steering wheel and a sequential gear lever that is intentionally mounted high to accommodate quick changes.

Floor pedals are made of aluminum and the instrument panel is specially constructed for easy monitoring. Both door panels and dashboard are covered in suede. The padded bucket seats proudly display the “Twin Run” insignia.

A 5-1/2″ LCD screen shows not only the speed at which you are traveling, but also the oil pressure, clutch pressure, fuel pressure as well as engine and gear speeds.
