Engine
Porsche built the Cayman R around a 3.4 liter horizontal 6 cylinder engine that is capable of 330 horsepower.
The transmission is a double-clutch seven-speed gearbox. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is done in 5 seconds with a top speed recorded at 174 mph. Average fuel consumption is 3.43 gallons per 100 miles.
Performance
Porsche chose rack-and-pinion steering for the Cayman R. This upgrade gives the car more agility and makes it easier to control.
At the same time, its weight has been reduced to 2854 pounds while the downforce has been increased for better road grip.
Exterior
The Cayman R does not break away from the typical Porsche design lines. It features two discreet air intakes in the front and an air vent in the center with the classic round headlights set above.
The rear received four discreet grilles, two on each side of the two central exhaust pipes. Additionally, the model comes with a spoiler as a default option. The engineering team also lowered the car by 22 millimeters.
Interior
The interior is mainly black with several accents across the dashboard and around the gearshift handle that have the same color as the exterior.
The gauges and instruments use analog indicators, placed conveniently behind the steering wheel. Leather sports seats for a more comfortable ride.
The Cayman R aims to combine elements from multiple classes. The 2013 Porsche Cayman R behaves and feels like a luxury sports car with a more precise driving experience than the S series.
