The 2014 Nissan X-Trail was unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. This car is set to replace the Nissan Qashqai +2 as the company’s 7-seat model.
The XTrail has been a featured Crossover in parts of Europe and Asia. The Xterra is perhaps the closest the American public has seen. This updated version meets an assortment of needs from the riding and driving global market. It is expected to be released in July 2014.

Engine
You have the option with either diesel or petrol powered engines. The base turbo diesel comes with an inline 4, 2.0 liter engine that produces 171 horsepower; while the base petrol, the M9R, is a 2.0 liter engine that provides 147 horsepower.
Exterior
The idea behind this Crossovers exterior design is to blend the sleek and stylish lines with the sturdy appeal of a typical SUV. Unlike the previous models that had a rugged, squared off line, this new offering has a premium and a dynamic appearance.
The vehicle has sculptured muscular lines that create a distinctive silhouette framed by elegant curves with high wheel arches. Other features include the structured headlights with LED daytime running lamps, ‘boomerang’ rear lights and the car’s D-pillar shape.
The 19 inch alloy wheels just give the crossover an imposing look.
Interior
Inside, there are great features that include geometric metallic, chrome and piano black finishes. You can choose from various options that range from a sophisticated cloth fabric covering to full leather with some contrasting stitch accents.
The interior is offered with optional 2 extra seats to create room for 7 people. With all seats up, you are given 62.6 cu ft of cargo room.
Technology
The Nissan X-Trail will definitely be one of the most advanced vehicles on the road. The car will benefit from the NissanConnect in-car navigation, entertainment and information system.
It also has Smartphone connectivity, 7-inch color touch screen, Bluetooth audio streaming, USB slots, 5 inch TFT color display and a wide range of apps covering social networking, music and entertainment.
Chassis
The new X-Trail has adopted Nissan’s advanced electronic 4-wheel drive system, ALL MODE 4x4i, this is controlled through a rotary switch on the center console. You can choose between 2-wheel drive, Auto mode, and the Lock that offers permanent 4-wheel drive.
