Nissan launched its Juke Nismo concept at the 2011 Tokyo motor show where it grabbed quite a lot of attention.

The 2011 Juke Nismo concept showcased how the premium sports edition of the hugely popular Juke would look like.

Innovative Design

The Nissan Juke has already redefined the B-segment with its distinctive styling.

The Juke Nismo takes the styling to the next level with its lower, broader and tougher profile. The styling leaves you with an impression of a performance oriented car.

The styling is not just for good looks but it has its functionality as well. The Juke Nismo concept dons a body kit crafted by the aerodynamic experts at Nismo, the motorsports and performance division of Nissan. This makes the car highly efficient in varied dynamics and handling.

Exterior

Some of the new additions include revised front and rear bumpers, broader fenders and side skirts. To improve the aerodynamics, the front grille has also been modified, the tailgate spoiler has been tweaked by the addition of side elements and the shape of door mirrors has been altered to reduce lift. The car is equipped with 19-inch alloys to give it a better grip to negotiate the increased power under the hood.

Interior

The interior of the Juke Nismo also get the sporty treatment. The pedals, steering wheels, gear shift knob and door trims have been redesigned to provide more excitement while driving. To emphasize on the sporty feel, reflective surfaces inside have been replaced by matte finish and the central console has been given shape of a motorcycle tank.

Engine

The new Juke Nismo is powered by an upgraded 1.6 liter turbo direct injection engine. There are no specs released about the engine to give a sense of the tweaking being done to the engine. We expect the engine to be tuned for higher power delivery.

The Nissan Juke Nismo concept would offer its customers an option of premium sports compact crossover. However, there is no clarity as yet whether the concept would hit the markets or not.
