2013 Mitsubishi GR-HEV Concept

The 2013 Mitsubishi GR-HEV Concept is a big step by Mitsubishi in introducing electric vehicles into the world market.

The car is engineered with the new innovative architecture of “Dual Design” which is available in the Outlander PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid electric vehicle).

Engine

This EV comes with a 2.5 liter Mitsubishi Clean engine that runs on diesel. What’s interesting is the additional front-mounted electric motor. Basically it is the electric motor that performs all the processes necessary for driving the car.

The motor is connected to an automatic gearbox and the entire system is controlled by a single electronic operating system. In order to keep the system in operation, a battery is fitted and protected by the ladder frame and extra cross guard bars.

Hybrid

As an electric vehicle, the major concern is the impact it has on the environment and how people perceive EVs. However, this Outlander PHEV inspired vehicle have improved performance and speed. This is made possible by the dual design which includes a long-haul D-segment crossover and the EV powertrain.

The electric components make it easier to improve the performance of the vehicle by making it tougher and sporty for work and leisure.

Diesel Benefits

The diesel engine has a number of benefits. For instance it provides an instant response when the electric motor starts giving a higher boost for improved acceleration. As a result the torque is also increased and a cleaner emission is maintained. Lastly the acceleration is quiet, and the cruising speed properly maintained.

The 2013 Mitsubishi GR-HEV Concept is a strong and compact pickup car. The fact that it is an electric vehicle makes it even more appealing. When this is combined with the earthy color it comes in, a tough and strong appearance is conveyed. Not to mention the swift design that improves air flow over the body and increases the stability of the vehicle.
