Engine & Performance
The 2012 C-Class is available in a couple of different engine. The C250 trims are fitted with a 1.8L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates 201 horsepower and 229 lbs-ft of torque. This engine is hooked up to a 7-speed automatic gearbox, while a rear wheel drive is also standard. This trim nets a fuel economy of 21/31 mpg city/highway.
The AWD C300 4Matic series uses a 3.0L V6 powertrain that generates 228 hp and 221 lbs-ft of torque. Its fuel economy estimates at 18/25 mpg city/highway. The rear-wheel drive C350 model on the other hand, uses a 3.5L V6 powertrain that generates 302 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The C350 sprints from 0 to 60 mph in just 5.6 seconds.
The C63 AMG model uses a 6.2 liter V8 engine that generates 451 hp and 443 lbs-ft of torque. This engine is connected to a standard 7-speed automated manual gearbox. A C63 Coupe with AMG Development package makes a total of 481 HP, and can move from standstill to 60 mph in respectable 4.2 seconds. The most powerful engine is the 6.2L V8 engine which is available in the C63 AMG Black models. This engine makes 510 horsepower and 457 lbs-ft of torque, thereby making it quicker than other models.
Exterior
The exterior of this car has been designed to make a good impression and appeal on the first sight. The tail end and the front section have been styled more strikingly, with the front bumper having a more dynamic and expressive contour that enhances the grille. This car also receives a new hood made of aluminum that contributes to lightweight and improved fuel economy in the long last.
