Engine
The new Grand Cherokee is powered by an efficient 3.0 liter diesel injection V6 engine that is fitted with Multi II Technology. The other engines available include the base 3.6 Liter Pentastar, the 5.7 liter V8, and of course, the 6.4 liter HEMI®V8.
Any of these is paired with a new eight-speed transmission system which ensures reduced emissions as well as consumption while driving under high speed.
Performance
The SUV is a traveling techno-hub as it comes fully equipped with on-the-fly shift map software. This easy-to-use program takes into account variables including engine torque gradients, travelling speed, kick-down events and acceleration.
The wide ratio spread and remarkable transmission efficiency provide the best fuel economy – speed blend by ensuring a lower engine rpm in both highway and city driving conditions. The introduction of more gear ratios also plays a significant role in reducing the gaps normally linked to up-shifting and downshifting.
Interior
The Cherokee’s EU Version and the interior have been enhanced thanks to the use of model specific color combinations and quality material. The center console features touch an 8.4″ touch screen (with controls for climate and radio just below it). The console is wrapped in leather just as the shifter is.
Exterior
Its fog lights have been slightly raised and are more prominent. Its rear has also received a brand new stamp of change and boasts among other things a large aerodynamic spoiler, large tail lamps and a re-sculpted tailgate. Its headlights are slim and its lower front fascia is slightly elevated.
