2015 GMC Sierra HD

The new 2015 GMC Sierra HD, along with the new Silverado by Chevrolet, GMC unveiled their new Turbo Diesel line at the Texas State Fair.

Engine

The new Sierra come in either gas and diesel powertrain. The standard on all new HDs is a 6.0 L Voltec gas engine which can deliver about 360 hp and 380 lb of torque.

The engineers at GMC focused on improving the airflow for the engine. Their aim was to create an engine that would be able to maintain power during extended us in hot conditions.

Performance

GMC says that their HD pickups are known for their towing capabilities. This new range includes the ability to carry the highest payload of 7,374 lb.

The maximum fifth-wheel trailering is capable of towing up to 23,200 lb. The enhanced engine-cooling feature helps it deliver optimal performance. It is even capable of towing up a mountain grade with a heavy load.

Exterior

The shape of the body is aerodynamic. This is due to the new inlaid doors which reduce wind noise since as it fits right into the body. There are also changes on the roof and rear which improve the aerodynamics.

Interior

Inside the new Sierra HD is infused with more technology. There are more intuitive and ergonomic controls have been tailored for the driver and passengers. The infotainment system received an upgrade and now comes with an eight-inch color touch screen.

The new HD is definitely a quality heavy duty truck. Not only is it able to perform under tough conditions, it received upgrades that make the ride more comfortable. The technology in these new models makes it fun and easy, not just for the driver but also for the passengers.
