Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000)

Brotherly love can defy everything.

This is the underlying theme in the movie Gone in Sixty Seconds. Nicolas Cage plays the role of Memphis, a retired expert car thief who was threatened by the British crime boss Raymond Vincent Calitri to continue stealing some of the most expensive cars available in their city. If Memphis will disagree, Kip, his younger brother, will be killed. Left with no better options, he planned in gathering the list of cars Calitri wants.

The police, even from the beginning, tracked Memphis’ moves and whereabouts. LAPD Detective Roland Castleback led this investigative body, and he wants Memphis behind bars. At the time Memphis retired, the pursuit the police have started for him started to weaken. However, since Memphis is now blackmailed to keep on stealing cars, Castleback reignited the fire they previously had in chasing Memphis.

Memphis succeeded in getting all the cars in the ‘shopping list’ Calitri have given to him except for a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500, Eleanor. Castleback knew this all the time, so he followed Memphis’ plans. The action-packed car race then took to the screen. Many watchers praised this certain scene due to the adrenaline pump that it can deliver to anyone watching it. If you will plan to see this movie, you can definitely enjoy this film and the heartwarming conclusion for everyone in the film, including Eleanor.
