Engine
The GT500 receives a new aluminum 5.8 liter V8 engine supercharged to produce 662 horsepower and a total torque of 631 lb-ft.
These specs make it potentially the most powerful V8 engine in the world. All this power is being handled and distributed by a six-speed annual transmission.
Performance
The engine and transmission have been tweaked to offer better road grip and torque distribution, making it a car that is easy to drive. Combined with the new Brembo break system, the driver will have more control over the Shelby.
The brake pads offer a more aggressive driving style with more robustness and high deceleration.
Exterior
This Shelby GT500 keeps some of the legacy design elements such as the front grille and hood air intake from its predecessors. Its wide and large front makes up for an aggressive look with the headlights pushed behind the line of the front bumper.
The rear and the sides are similar to the Mustang with very few visual changes.
Interior
From the inside, the Shelby looks like a two seat sports car. The standard model comes with black leather sports seats and an all-black interior with several chrome elements around the gauges and instruments.
The design tweaks add up to improved performance. All these upgrades are helped by a new and more powerful engine.
The design of the 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 was made to handle any kind of drive style and endure extreme speeds at up to 200 mph.
