2. Bugatti Veyron: 253 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle W16 Engine with 1001 hp, base price is $1,700,000. With the highest price tag, no wonder this is rank #2.
3. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass, will make you want to show it off non-stop.
4. Koenigsegg CCX: 245 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. 90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is aiming hard to be the fastest car in the world, but it has a long way to go to surpass the Bugatti and the Ultimate Aero.
5. McLaren F1: 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. Check out the doors, they looks like bat wings, maybe Batman need to order one and paints it black 
6. Ferrari Enzo: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. F140 Aluminum V12 Engine with 660 hp, base price is $670,000. Only 399 ever produced, the price goes up every time someone crashes.

8. Pagani Zonda F: 215 mph, 0-60 in 3.5 secs. Mercedes Benz M180 V12 Engine with 650 hp, base price is $667,321. With a V12 motor, this baby can do much better.
9. Lamborghini Murcielago LP640: 211 mph, 0-60 in 3.3 secs. V12 Engine with 640 hp, base price is $430,000. Nice piece of art, the design is very round and smooth.

Those are not the fastest cars, there the fastest road cars, and the aero is NOT a road car, its a race edition. The fastest car is the 2006 Ferrari F1 car, and the fastest road car is the bugatti veyron.

Actually, the Barabus TKR was never officially testes, the produers said the car was CAPABLE of 270mph and 0-60 in 1.67s but it never did an official test drive so it isn’t the fastest car chris.

the SSC aero set the record in washington state at high altitude in cold weather and took almost 13 miles to achieve 257, the veyron did 253 in 4 miles…at sea level 70 degrees, nuff said…..

all r wrong, well, except ‘the man’ i didnt look at all of them, but a bugatti veyron DOESNT hit up to 407 mph, maybe kph, the Barabus TKR is the fastest car known of, its like he said, 0-60 in 1.67 secs, v8 twin turbo 6.0 liter engine got the front of a saleen s7 1005 bhp 360,000 euro (the veyron is 600,000 euro) and 1.1m USD it hits 270 and has great handling

The car has a full carbon fiber body and chassis, sorry i didnt make all 100% clear, the price for a barabus tkr is usd 531,921.97 (i more think they be around 668,000) and the price for a veyron is 886,507.30 and to make clearer its based on a V8 all aluminium block re-engineered by Barabus, the twin turbo dual intercooler motor generates 1005 horsepower at 6800 rpm; redlining at 7500 rpm. it has a video cam at back for rear view idk how much it weighs, but i think around 2750 or less (probably less, they made as light as possible)

the aero first of all is a road car, and the only reason it’s faster is because it is lighter, bugatti has to have like 500 pounds more than the aero. Aero is garbage, a rock could send it off course, a small rock too.

Hey I been looking to buy a car with budget limit of maybe around $700.000.0
but it have to be “all wheel drive” based and compatible with ethanol. because i think it would be a lot better if all for “legs” that has contact to the ground propels the car instead of just the pair rears. It doesnt matter if it is a hardtops, convertible, or softtops. And also the one with the most economical from the fuel usage point of view for the engine of its class.
the type which do good in interstate strips as well as around city blocks like New York City.

but it will do every bit of 253mph, 16cyl & four turbochargers will get the job done. So will the $1,622,303.00 price tag, not to mention the GG tax and insuring the rocket. If you are looking for a daily driver, I highly recommend the Gallardo or 911 turbo. Relatively cheap in comparison and the both haul A$$!

It’s not about horsepower, it’s about power to weight. I’ve got a modified ariel atom running a supercharged 2 litre honda type-R engine. It only pulls 394HP, but the car weighs less than 500Kg. So that makes about 800HP per tonne, which is why it can do 0-100k in under 2.2 and do a standing quarter in less than 9secs.

R u guys fukcing sad, my car can go fastest. I have a Italdesign schigera 8.4 L engine, wif a twin supercharged turbo engine from the F1’s engine.
SO pretty much its an italdesign with the Mclaren f1 engine, twin supercharged, with turbo and its an 8.4L engine.
It has 1045 HP, i eneterd it to the Guinees world records for top 10 fastest car, it goes 398 K/PH which is 248 M/PH.

Hmph. All you people do is talk. I admit, some of you know exactly what you are talking about. The Bugatti Veyron is the fastest, yet heaviest sport cars out there. The engine type for them is not a V8. It’s a W-16. Even if the little tab under the picture up there says else wise, it’s wrong. Just like how they are matching up the world fastest car. Other ones say that a formula car, the Ariel Atom is the third fastest. It uses a Civic Type R engine and it is considerably light. The only thing people can agree on now, is that the Bugatti, and possibly the Ultimate Aero, may be the only thing true. There are still other cars that are not listed, that are pretty fast. Take time to think about that.

Okay, first of all, everyone here that has posted a comment is wrong. Second, the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo has 1000 HP, not 750 HP, and the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is the fastest car in the world. With a top speed of 267 MPH, 0-60 in 1.8 Seconds, 0-100 in 4.2 seconds, 0-200 in 10 seconds, It beats every car that is listed here. As well as it being fast, it is well built. It is said that the Saleen S7 could drive upside down at 160 MPH and it would stay upside down on the tarmac and still be able to drive. Lastly, the Bugatti Veyron does not have 1001 HP, that is the italian standard. The Bugatti Veyron has 987 HP American standard. Saleen S7 has and will be the fastest car in the world for quite some time.

this site is crap the Bugatti was only tested to go its top speed at the VW test track and that is up in the mountains. So how do you expect it to go as fast as it can when it is starved for oxygen. Also it is able to putout over 1300 hp and go over 275mph. The makers tested the engine before they put it in a car and it easily goes faster then 290 so add the car and you get to go over 275.

where are the corvettes? not on the list. if you didnt notice its “fastest” cars in the world. not “most common” sports car on the road. lets see: c6 = 190+mph, z06 = 198mph, zr-1 = 205mph…..where does that fit in? i mean they are great cars, all around. if the list were called “best bang for the buck”, then yeah. no doubt would the corvette be on there. top 5 maybe even top 3 for sure.
