Even with the few changes to the 2014 Dodge Challenger SRT, it is hard to argue that it remains the ultimate throwback to the 1970 muscle cars. This vehicle has always been more about what’s under the hood. One change to the exterior comes with an expanded Challenger Core SRT trim line.
This option includes black Brembo brake calipers, 20 inch aluminum wheels with black inserts and a 6.4 liter badge on the front fenders. The Core SRT also has upgrades for the interior with premium “Ballistic” cloth which is the same found in the SRT Viper with piano black accents.

Engine & Performance
As mentioned earlier, the Dodge Challenger SRT is all about the engine. The Challenger SRT comes with a 6.4 liter, HEMI V8 delivering 470 horsepower with 470 lb ft of torque when paired with a Tremec TR-6060, 6 speed manual transmission.
With this configuration it will move from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds with a top speed of 182 mph. A five-speed automatic transmission is also available lowering the top speed to 175.
Exterior
While no major restyling is seen on the 2014 Challenger SRT, there are some differences to the exterior. Aerodynamics has been improved by the large front splitter, integrated front fenders, and a rear deck lid spoiler.
The front fascia also includes a chin spoiler to assist with air flow. Ten exterior colors are offered, including favorites Plum Crazy (purple) and a clear coat Orange. Two other popular traditional hues are available in Phantom Black and Redline tri-coat pearl.
Interior
Inside the Challenger SRT, it all begins with the steering wheel. Its leather is wrapped and heated, then finished with a satin chrome rim section. Paddle shifts are present with the automatic transmission as well.
Both front seats tilt with memory and come with standard power lumbar features. The instrument panel features the usual 4 gauge cluster with chrome accent rings and the SRT logo on proud display. A new interior color combo is offered in Radar Red/Dark Slate Gray.
