2014 Citroen C-XR Concept

Given the amount of time Citroen has invested in the Chinese market, it was only a matter of time before this French automaker expanded its market in the country.

This came to pass with the debut of the 2014 Citroen C-XR Concept at the recent Beijing Auto Show. The C-XR concept is a contemporary take on the SUV. The car features noticeable compact styling combined with an assertive SUV look that is blended with elegance.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, C-XR is powered by a 1.6 liter THP engine. According to Citroen, the engine uses the latest-generation automatic gearbox.

This boosts the driving pleasure and comfort while still reducing fuel consumption. The weight of this vehicle is drastically reduced.

This reduction reflects the top-quality road approach to produce an SUV that reduces CO2 emissions and fuel consumption.

Exterior

The wide, chromed front grille is a nice touch. The headlights are aggressively detailed that serves as a nice complement to the sharp front bumper with integrated LED daytime lights, giving the front section of the C-XR a sporty look.

The most noticeable elements of the rear include the 3D–effect taillights and dual chrome exhaust pipes. This “cross-over” has a high beltline that gives it a muscular appearance.

It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with all-seasons tires. The vehicle has a length of 167.7 inches and a wheelbase of 104.33 inches. Red side décor & wing-mirror housings underline the vehicles dynamic qualities and outdoor sprint.

Interior

The long wheelbase translates to more space. Drivers are able to enjoy excellent visual comfort . This is due to the saloon-style driving position together with raised ground clearance which provides a great view of the entire road.

Occupants can enjoy great travelling comfort, a result of the long wheelbase, and a huge glass panoramic roof, which fills the interior with soft, filtered light.
