Engine & Performance

The brand-new LT4 supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine delivers 625-horsepower and 635 pound-feet of torque (861 Nm). For an optimum balance between high performance and fuel efficiency, the LT4 supercharged engine leverages the same advanced technologies introduced for the first time on the Corvette Stingray, including cylinder deactivation.

This technology allows the driver to cruise on the highway with decreased fuel consumption, while still being able to enjoy at least 625-horsepower offered.

In addition to the standard seven-speed manual transmission featuring Active Rev Match, this convertible will also be available with the brand-new 8L90 eight-speed automatic transmission, the highest capacity automatic transmission ever provided in a Chevy, for greater efficiency and drivability.

Exterior

The most striking feature of the 2015 Corvette Z06 Convertible is the high-tech, all-aluminum futuristic frame structure boasting improved stiffness and strength as well as reduced weight. All exterior panels, including flared fenders, larger vents, carbon-fiber front splitter and wider rear spoiler serve functional purposes in order to accomplish the high performance goals of this supercar.

The electronic top of this convertible comes in four elegant colors, incorporates sound-absorbing padding and it can open or close while driving 30 miles per hour. The Z06 convertible as well as the coupe will be available for sale with one of three levels of aerodynamic downforce.

Interior

The interior design of this Convertible features two seating options – a GT seat as well as a Competition Sport seat with fairly aggressive side bolstering for enhanced support on the track. Both seats have a magnesium frame structure for improved rigidity and strength. The flat-bottom steering wheel has a carbon fiber center spoke.

The fully wrapped interior of this convertible comes in five colors, including dark gray and blue which are exclusive to the Z06 models and includes soft-touch, premium materials such as micro-suede, Napa leather, aluminum and carbon fiber that add elegance and style.

According to Tadge Juechter, Corvette chief engineer, the most remarkable aspect of this surprisingly lightweight drop-top is its performance. This convertible will be on sale later this year.
