Engine & Performance
The 2014 M5 has a twin-turbocharged 4.4 liter V8 engine; this engine peaks at 560 horsepower at 6,000 to 7,000 rpm. It churns out around 502 lb-ft of torque beginning at 1,500 rpm. This vehicle is equipped with a dual-clutch and can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.3 seconds. It can reach a top speed of 155 mph; which is electronically limited.
The M5 is more fuel efficient when compared to its predecessor; this is due to the downsized engine and other EfficientDynamics upgrade such as the brake energy regeneration and the automatic start or stop system.
Depending on the owner’s demands, the level of rear differential’s locking can be varied from 0 to 100%. This is made possible by the M-specific steering calibration plus the vehicle’s Dynamic Damper Control that improves grip in on-road and even on-track situations.
Interior
Inside the M5, you will find a cool-heated steering wheel, ventilated seats, heated seats, a 4-zone climate control , a power tailgate and soft-close automatic doors.
The driver-oriented dashboard has a color display with some of the latest in BMW’s ConnectedDrive infotainment system. This ConnectedDrive enables all passengers to gain access to directions with real-time information, internet, different radio stations, even changing climate control settings.
Passengers can even opt to manually input any given address with the help a touchpad-like surface located just above the iDrive controller.
Safety
This car comes with a dual front, some front-side, full-length side curtain airbags. It also has an electronic stability control system, traction control system, tire pressure monitoring unit, active head restraints, side/top view cameras, blind spot detection and speed limit information unit.
