The US based car tuner Galpin showed off their 1000 horsepower version of the Ford GT.

The 2013 Galpin Ford GTR1 attempts to provide an imaginative evolution of the GT series and its potential transition into a supercar.

The original GT series was discontinued in 2006 but Galpin took the old model and applied current technologies and styling.

Engine

The GTR1 comes with a 5.4 liter V8 engine complemented by a twin turbocharger system. Its upgraded drivetrain is now capable of delivering 1024 horsepower and a torque of 739 pound feet that gives it a maximum speed of 225 mph.

Performance

Using six-piston breaks, carbon rotors, and Pirelli tires, the car’s road stability manages to remain the same despite a tweak in its body.

The new aerodynamics improve downforce ensuring that there is enough road grip for tight cornering and high speeds.

Exterior

The front bumper has been replaced with a new one that is closer to the ground making the car look more aggressive than it already is. Work on the front also included modifications to the hood which has now two air intakes, compared to the single intake in the stock version.

The new body also adds five more inches on both sides, making it appear wider. From the rear, the car’s visuals have been completely altered. The discreet original bumper has been upgraded to a wider version, gaining an aggressive look.

The two exhaust pipes have had their position changed from the left side to the center under the bumper.

Interior

Galpin changed the interior as well. The standard all black theme has been scrapped. It has been replaced with blue leather and metallic grey elements on the gauges, instruments, seats and gearbox handle.

Galpin’s version of the Ford GT manages to take a mild sports car and turn it into a supercar. With more than 1000 HP under the hood, the 2013 Galpin Ford GTR1 remains stable on the road. The model will not be mass produced and its availability has not been disclosed.

DMC announced their new body kit for the McLaren MP12C via a press release issued to main media channels.

The company worked mainly on the exterior of the car adding carbon fiber elements and a new paintjob.

Amongst the changes for the 2013 DMC McLaren MP4-12C Velocita SE the most notable features are the improved downforce and upgraded interior.

Performance

No changes were done to the braking and suspension system. The car’s improved road stability and grip comes from the redesigned aerodynamics.

The side flappers and front grille increase the downforce on the front axle while the wider wheels provide better grip at high speeds.

Exterior

The German company rebuilt the front fascia, adding a carbon fiber grill and a new front side lip splitter. New side flaps have been added for improved downforce and reduced weight. The stock wheels have been replaced by diamond forged alloy rims.

From the rear, the changes are more discreet. A new rear diffuser replaces the one currently on it, improving the tunnel effect by adding 2 fins.

Last but not least, the exhaust system has been replaced and redesigned, made of pure Titanium. The noise level generated has increased significantly due to the metal used to manufacture the exhaust pipe.

Interior

DMC offers custom interior with multiple choices available. The optional materials include carbon fiber elements, wood, leather or Alcantara. Additional modifications can be added as requested.

Even if DMC did not include performance upgrades in the package, the MP4-12 behaves a bit different on the road when compared with the stock version of the car.
At the same time, its exterior and interior visual improvements manage to reduce its weight. However, the 2013 DMC McLaren MP4-12C Velocita SE can be heard from a distance, it is loud.

Caterham recently announced their upcoming concept car through a press release.

The 2013 Caterham AeroSeven Concept will be made available sometime in the upcoming year, 2014.

As of now, the manufacturer only released pictures and engine specifications related to their latest concept design.

The concept comes with a 2.0 liter Ford inline-4 engine, capable of generating 237 horsepower which has been paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Acceleration from 0 to 60 is done under 4 seconds with the torque reaching 152 lb-ft at 6300 rpm.

Performance

Caterham uses the new inboard front suspension for better control. Combined with anti-roll bars and adequate downforce, the car maintains a good road grip and agility through tight corners at high speeds.

Exterior

The exterior of the car breaks away from previous designs. Its front grille and headlights are slightly pushed back behind the line of the hood.

Its façade has been painted in black while the top and portions of the body are in green, the front, and rear fender fade to black towards the rear.

As for the rear, the design is minimalistic. The tail lights have been narrowed down, becoming barely visible when shut off.

The car is a two-seat roadster with an extended front side as the distance between the driver and the front wheels is fairly long.

Interior

The interior of the car is simple with the driver and the passenger separated by a bar that crosses between them at shoulder level.

Other design elements are notable, these have been inspired by race cars, which include the steering wheel and gauges and instruments.

The concept by Caterham will be available in 2014. Packed with new technologies that are currently not use by any of their other models, the 2013 Caterham AeroSeven Concept is a sneak peak of how future Caterham vehicles will look.

The 2014 Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show recently.

The first deliveries are expected to arrive in the UK by October of this year. This model is a revamp of the popular family car.

The Insignia Tourer features an improved and spacious cabin at a relatively competitive price, which gives it an edge over other cars in the same class.

Engine

The 2014 Insignia Sports Tourer is available in several engine options.

The new turbo-charged gas versions are helped by a Spark Ignition Direct Injection or SIDI system. You have your choice of either the 1.6 liter version comes with 168 horsepower while the 2.0 liter version brings you 250 horsepower.

Then you have the ultra clean diesel engines, starting with the 2.0 CDTI that gives you 138 horsepower. If you need a little more than that, you can choose either the 2.0 liter with 163 horsepower or the 2.0 BiTurbo that comes with 195 horsepower.

The diesel options include a range that start at 110, 120, and 130 horsepower. Both come with six-speed manual transmission as well as an optional six-speed automatic.

Exterior

The new Insignia sports some styling tweaks. This includes a front grille re-design along with different headlights. In the back, a new tailgate with some strip designs can be seen. These are positioned lower down as compared to the previous model.

Interior

The biggest change in terms of aesthetics can be seen inside. The much-criticized button-heavy fascia is improved, and a newer, cleaner design is evident.

All models come complete with a 4.2 ” LCD screen which is located by the center console. This comes complete with a controller. There are optional features available that include an 8 inch touch-screen infotainment system.

The Vauxhall Insignia has dominated the mid-sized class since its release in 2008. The new 2014 Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer has kept its clean lines and bold look.

However, the improvements on the interior as well as the engine are worth noting. The technology-integrated improvements in the Insignia Tourer, as well as the new engine options make driving a pleasure.

A Mercedes Benz E 63 AMG was recently reworked by Brabus.

Known as the 2013 Brabus Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG 850 Biturbo, the car received a significant performance boost and an exterior visual upgrade.

The engineers that designed the Brabus version call it the most powerful luxury sedan available today on the market due to the engine tweaks and the biturbo upgrade.

Engine

The stock 6 liter V8 engine was paired with a twin turbocharger system that boosted its power to 838 horsepower. This power boost increased the torque to 1069 lb-ft. Becausethe seven speed manual gearbox has not been upgraded, the torque has been limited to 848 lb-ft.

Top speed is limited to 230 mph and the acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is done in 3.5 seconds.

Performance

The body kit adds downforce to the front axle to improve road grip and stability at high speeds. Combined with the reduced weight through the use of carbon fiber elements, the car is notably superior to the stock model in terms of driving and handling.

Exterior

Visual enhancements of the E 63 AMG start with a new front bumper that adds two air intakes on the sides and a mesh grille in the middle, beneath the classic Mercedes one.

The side received new skirts to go with the air outtake on the front wheel fenders, while the rear bumper experienced no changes.

Interior

The interior features all leather dashboard and seats with your choice of colors. Additionally the floor has been covered in leather as well.

On the driver’s side, the gauges and instruments have been placed on a wide LCD screen behind the driving wheel.

Chrome accents are strewn throughout the dashboard, steering wheel, and along the doors.

Brabus worked on improving the key elements of the car. With an upgraded body kit, interior and engine, the 2013 Brabus Mercedes-Benz E 63 AMG 850 Biturbo manages to stand side by side amongst the most powerful luxury sedans of today.
