Caterham Cars has just opened the UK order book for 2014 Caterham Seven 160. It’s new entry-level is a variant of the iconic sports car that is powered by a super-compact, turbocharged Suzuki engine.

This new edition redefines the budget sports car segment while at the same time introducing brand new levels of efficiency and value for the money.

According to Caterham Cars CEO, this car is more economical, more accessible, fun on the road, and has a very unique personality. The production of this car is expected to begin January 2014 and the deliveries most likely to start in spring 2014.

Engine & Performance

To meet desired performance criteria, the engineers’ fine tuned this car’s engine performance from its standard output. This new car packs a minuscule 660cc turbocharged 3 cylinder engine from Suzuki.

The engine produces 80 horsepower; this is more than the 64 horsepower it gives out before Caterham engineers got their hands on it.

This car is light but still has enough muscle to hustle it up from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds to with a top speed of 100 mph. While boosting the fuel economy and reduce vehicle emissions, this car clearly conforms to EU5, JCO8, and the EU6 emissions regulations.

Other basic features include a 5- speed manual gear box.

Exterior

The Seven 160 has a new rear axle which is a throwback to the early Sevens in terms of purity and simplicity of design.

The Caterham Seven 160 features a set of 14 inches steel wheels covered in skinny 155- section tires and joined together with a live hub back suspension.

Interior

This model offers flexible material for the seats. For drivers who might need more space, there are options to choose from. Basically, the interior design offers more space and comfort for a smooth fun ride.

Many European car enthusiasts were disappointed when Chrysler announced in January that the 2013 SRT Viper would not be available to them. German tuner, GeigerCars has come to the rescue by unofficially importing the vehicle to Europe.

Reviews have come out naming the 2013 GeigerCars SRT Viper one of the year’s best sports cars.

There is a caveat to this proposition. It will cost the European buyers $180,500 (€139,900) which is almost twice the price of the automobile in the U.S.($97,395). It is still expected that demand will be high.

Under the hood of the GeigerCars SRT Viper is an 8.4 liter, V10 engine that produces 640 horsepower. This beast will go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and comes with a top speed of 206 mph.

The engine is paired with a Tremec TR6060, 6 speed manual transmission. The drag coefficient is only 0.364.

Exterior

Let’s start with the preferred color of the GeigerCars SRT Viper. That would be yellow, specifically “Race Yellow” which is appropriate for this sports car.

The exterior design is of a new language with an emphasis on speed and aerodynamics.

The hood, roof and deck lid are all made of carbon fiber while the door panels are made from aluminum. The result is a much lighter vehicle than previous editions with weight factors being measured in every aspect of its construction.

The SRT Viper still has its traditional front fender “gills” with this version sporting a “GeigerCars” decal behind them.

There are new side exhausts with the bezels popping out behind the doors. The “Rattler” 5 spoke wheel design is the “piece de resistance” to complete its sleek profile.

Interior

The interior of the GeigerCars SRT Viper is much improved in both appearance and technology.

It has fiberglass shell (lightweight) racing seats with the instrument panel topped with an 8.4 inch color touchscreen that controls all driver functions including the audio system. Audio settings can also be adjusted from buttons mounted on the steering wheel.

You can also avail of Chryslers “UConnect” system, and at your disposal is Bluetooth connectivity, should you want it. An additional 7 inch LED screen displays pertinent vehicle info and is customizable.

Recently unveiled was the 2014 BMW M235i shortly after the new 2 series. The 1M and M135i precede the M235i the same way the 1 series coupe preceded the 2 series. The BMW M235i coupe is the latest addition to the BMW M Performance line.

It combines an intense driving, aerodynamic design, and a powerful engine specifically designed for the M line. The BMW M235i coupe offers drivers a balance between driving pleasure and everyday drivability.

The BMW M235i is powered by a 3.0 liter, inline 6 engine. The engine comes equipped with sound tuning, power management, modifications to its cooling system and twin power turbo technology.

It has an output of 326 horsepower and 333 lb ft of torque. The M235i sprints from 0 to mph in 5.0 seconds; if the launch control is activated, it drops to 4.8 seconds.

Exterior

The exterior design similarities between the 135i and the M235i are quite noticeable. The M235i features the traditional M design at the front with huge flaps and air intakes inspired by race cars.

However, the main distinguishing factor are the exterior mirror caps, a high-gloss shadow line trim, a rear apron, and contoured side skirts. The lower section of the car has a Dark shadow metallic paintwork finish that incorporates it with the twin tailpipes.

Interior

The interior of the M235i has door-sill strips with “M235i” lettering engraved in the aluminum inserts. Both driver and the passenger receive the added support of leather wrapped sports seats.

As the driver, you will enjoy an M-steering wheel featuring multifunction buttons. The leather finish extends to the steering wheel, selector level, and gearshift lever.

The M235i has a BMW Individual roof liner in Aluminum and Anthracite Hexagon trim coupled with accent strips in high-gloss black or matte Estoril blue.

The 2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe is a two door model based on the 1 Series hatchback. It becomes available in early 2014.

Although both the 1 and 2 series models may differ in the important components, they share body panels.

The 2 Series has a bit more style, proportion and enhanced performance when compared to the 1 Series hatchback.

There are three variants of the 2 Series that will be available when it arrives in 2014; the 220i, 220d, and the M235i. The 220i has a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine capable of 184 horsepower along with 200 pound-feet of torque; and the diesel is also a 2.0 liter that has 184 horsepower with 281 lbs ft of torque.

The M235i on the other hand is a 3.0 liter inline 6 Twin Turbo that brings home 326 horsepower to go with 333 pound-feet of torque. All models come with an 8 speed automatic transmission.

The 220i goes from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds, whereas the M235i, with the extra two cylinders makes it in 5.0 seconds.

Interior & Exterior

The interior of the 2014 2 Series Coupe includes a driver focused cabin. Some features include dual zone auto climate control and the i-Drive system paired with a 6.5 inch display.

Hi-tech options such as a Driving Assistant pack that comes with a collision warning and lane departure system. A navigation system is likewise available. The rear seat is a 60-40 split folding unit that retracts to allow larger sized cargo.

Around the cabin, you have 2 cup holders, door pockets, along with a glove box provide room for smaller items. Compared with the 1 Series Coupé, the 2 Series is slightly bigger. It has a reshaped and narrower headlights that adds to its appeal. The bigger proportions of the new 2 Series gives you additional interior space.

Smoother, sportier and sleeker are the buzzwords for the BMW 2 Series Coupe plans to be available on March 8th, 2014. A convertible is predicted to follow in the summer.

The MiTo engine range includes 5 turbocharged engines options. A 0.9 TwinAir Turbo gives the two diesel engines a boost of 20 horsepower.

Despite the improved performance, the engine remains efficient with a combined fuel economy of 67.3 mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km.

Start&Stop technology comes standard on the 3 petrol and 2 diesel units.

Exterior

The new model benefits from a new chromed front grille, titanium grey headlamps and tail lamps. There are also tinted rear windows, sports bumper and a well revised color palette that includes a new Matte Magnesio Grey finish.

The car also features electric windows and mirrors, front fog lamps, alloy wheels and a rear spoiler.

Interior

The interior is updated with new dashboards that have been upgraded with lighter but strong material. The interior is more sophisticated with the new new upholstery combinations to choose from; 2 new Evoluzione fabrics (black-titanium or black-red).

The car has new sporty seating to go with white inserts available in some trims. It also features technology features such as Uconnect and a 5 inch color touch screen with voice recognition, steering wheel remote control, Bluetooth, USB ports and optional satellite navigation.

Most models are equipped with air conditioning, leather- trimmed steering wheel and gear knob.
