The 2014 SsangYong Korando is simply a revised version of the compact SUV that was first seen in 2011. As part of a mid-life, face-lift, the car has been upgraded.

The new design and quality of materials used altogether bring refined improvement.

Expected to be released in the next few months, an Australian distributor said this car will not be seen in showrooms before first quarter of year 2014.

Engine

The powertrain of new SsangYong is expected to remain the same. The new Korando will either have a 2.0 liter, inline 4 engine that brings you 148 horsepower along with 266 lbs ft or torque; or the 2.0 liter turbo diesel engine that produces 147 horsepower.

Both engines produce 266 lb ft torque. Entry-level models are front-wheel drive although there is an option for a 4-wheel drive. The 4-wheel is the front-wheel drive in a normal road driving and sends torque only when required.

Exterior

The Korando has a revised grille with an added upper chrome strip. The front bumper has been restyled with round fog lights.

Larger, squarer headlights are used that provide a new lighting cluster that include LED day-time running lights. The car’s tail-lights have likewise been modified.

Interior

Inside, the cabin of the compact 5-seater has been refreshed as compared to the previous model. It comes with a new dashboard, angular air-vents, with an extended center console highlighted by a brand new touch-screen.

Adding to its character, chrome and glass black trim accents have been used.

The car features 50/50 diff lock as a standard and the company boasts of decent-ramp angles and ride-height clearance for those who dare to venture off-road.

At the beginning of November popular high performance sports car tuner Vorsteiner announced a new subsidiary called “Vorsteiner Nero”.

This division of the company will concentrate on updating vehicles from manufacturers such as Ferrari, McLaren, Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Also included on the list was Lamborghini. One of its initial packages is the 2014 Vorsteiner Lamborghini Aventador V LP 740.

Engine & Performance

The Vorsteiner Lamborghini Aventador V is loaded with a 6.5 liter, V12 that generates up to 740 horsepower. An update to the ECU provided 40 extra horses from the stock engine. This is signified by the “LP-740” label.

It is expected to go from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 220 mph.

Exterior

On the outside, the kit adds carbon fiber elements like the front splitter and lower intake. The side features aggressive looking air scoops and the back has a rear vent surrounds and a diffuser. Combined, these details add to the vehicle’s aerodynamic makeup.

The two new splitters in front increase the downforce to prevent airborne ascent. An optional lower lip spoiler is also offered which adds to its appearance.

The profile accentuates the new side sill extension blades. The wheels are 20 x 9 inches in the front and 21 x 13 in the rear.

The OEM rear spoiler has been replaced by a carbon fiber aero wing. There is a huge carbon fiber rear diffuser allowing air to escape freely from underneath the vehicle thereby reducing drag. A graphic kit help add stripes to the hood, trunk and roof.

Interior

The Vorsteiner kit does not change the basic Aventador interior.

The project took close to a year to develop and serves to upgrade the “Lambo’s” already extraordinary look with a few changes under the hood.

The interior matches previous versions of the Aventador, which is sufficient given its already exquisite persona.

Nissan recently announced their upcoming 2015 GT-R Nismo as part of their racing frontline.

According to the details provided by the manufacturer, the Nismo will be a factory-tuned sports car with tweaked aerodynamics, precise handling and extra performance.

This Nismo is not only a car with good looks, but is a competitive as it gets for a coupe.

The GT-R Nismo will come equipped with a twin-turbo 3.8 liter V8 engine capable of a maximum output of 591 horsepower and 482 lbs ft of torque.

This GT-R’s top speed has been limited to 186 mph. It uses a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with a manual shifting mode. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph is done in 2.9 seconds.

Performance

The increased downforce gives the car excellent road grip. At the same time, the cars distance from the ground makes it much more stable at high speeds.

Steering and tight cornering are precise mainly due to the new suspensions and springs. Nissan gave this Nismo model more traction and higher stability when performing difficult maneuvers.

Exterior

From a visual perspective, the GTR Nismo received multiple changes to the front line to increase downforce.

The front bumper now features an extra large grill. The rear spoiler lowers the center of gravity and thus increasing the car’s handling properties.

Interior

The interior is available in all black with red elements on the doors, seats and steering wheel.

The gauges combine red and blue elements while the steering wheel has been equipped with multiple controls for the driver’s convenience.

The central area features a generous LCD display screen and right beneath, a carbon texture control panel.

The price of the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo makes it out of reach for the average consumer but Nissan’s aim is to build a competitive sports car, not an affordable one.

The 2015 Porsche Macan crossover was one of the stars of the last month’s 2013 LA Motor Show. With the Macan, Porsche has taken a step forward towards expanding its range of vehicles.

As the newest member of the Porsche family, this crossover announces Porsche’s entry in the compact SUV segment.

The company is planning to launch Macan in two trims initially – Macan S and Macan Turbo. Later down the line Porsche may launch a base version below the Macan S.

The new Macan S has will have a 3.0 liter V6 twin turbo engine that churns out 340 horsepower. The engine will be mated to a seven speed double clutch transmission.

The Macan Turbo will be powered by a 3.6 liter V6 bi-turbo engine, which produces a whopping 400 horsepower, which is massive for a compact SUV.

The Macan S can do a 0-62 mph dash in 6.3 seconds, while the Macan Turbo can do so in just 4.8 seconds.

Exterior

The design of the 2015 Macan is inspired by the 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid sports cars. Creating a sporty crossover design can be a challenge, but Porsche has done a perfect job by maintaining proportions and lines.

The design is broad and low, as a typical sports car should be. The assertive appearance of the Macan offers upgraded headlights and taillights, in addition to large air intakes, typical of Porsche’s.

The wraparound bonnet creates a beautiful design detail by enclosing headlamps and extending up the wheel arches. The side view of a sloping roofline projects a sharp profile, which goes in sync with the dynamic nature of the vehicle. The rear of the car exudes a broad and sporty look.

Interior

The interior has a sense of familiarity to other Porsche vehicles, yet it comes with striking new features. The main attraction is the new multi function sports steering wheel. The vehicle has a forward sloping center console and a high-set gear selector.

Porsche Macan is slated to hit the market in the first half of 2014. The Macan S is expected to start at $51K, while the Macan Turbo will start from $73K.

The Ford Motor Company introduces the 2013 Ford Edge Concept with the promise that this vehicle is more than just a fantasy.

It balances technological advancement with style.

With an updated interior, a plethora of technology features define this concept from Ford.

For starters, it is has a “self park” function with the push of a button. Other advance features include a lane keeping system with a front camera that scans the road for lane markings and a collision warning system that utilizes radar to locate other vehicles to the front and side. Radar alerts the driver of blind spots when other vehicles are around.

Nothing definite about the engine, but speculation has it that it may be a newer version of the EcoBoost.

Exterior

The new Edge Concept takes a step forward with the term “Crossover.” New LED headlamps are connected to a new 3 bar grille section. The grille has retractable shutters that automatically open and close based on engine temperature that helps improve fuel efficiency.

Other aerodynamic additions are the front wheel well air curtains that direct air flow to the side and rear.

Added is an integrated rear roof spoiler. This concept car came painted in a copper hue with lighted chrome accents around the headlights, taillights and turn signals.

Interior

The instrument panel, center console and door panels are made of premium black Nubuck. These are trimmed with the cars exterior color (Copper), as is the carpeting.

A 10 inch touch screen display with “My Ford” capabilities dominates the dashboard. The interior “Edge” emblem is lit by an LED. Expect this next generation Edge sometime in 2015.
